I Let AI Run My Pipeline for 7 Days. Here’s What Happened
I love selling. I hate the admin that comes with it.
Every sales founder knows the drill. You forget to log notes after three back-to-back calls. Your CRM is a graveyard. That one hot lead never gets a follow-up because life gets in the way.
So last week, I decided to try something bold. What if AI ran my pipeline for a full seven days? What if I stopped trying to do it all and started delegating to systems that don’t sleep?
Here’s what happened.
Day One: The Setup
I chose four tools:
• ChatGPT to write follow-up emails and call summaries
• Tactiq and Notion to transcribe Zooms and drop key points into my CRM
• Make to automate updates and trigger workflows
• Loom and Canva to create quick video intros for warm leads
In 90 minutes, I mapped a basic AI-first pipeline:
1. Discovery calls auto-transcribed and summarized
2. Follow-ups written by AI and scheduled
3. Proposals drafted with embedded video
4. CRM statuses updated automatically
Day Three: Admin is Mostly Optional
AI handled 80 percent of my follow-ups. Not because it was brilliant, but because it was on time.
One client said, “I was impressed how fast you sent that. Let’s move forward.”
The truth? I was on a walk. ChatGPT wrote the message. Make sent it. I just clicked approve.
Day Four: Voice Matters More Than Ever
Default AI replies sound like a bot. So I trained it to write like me. Casual tone. Short lines. Same phrasing I use in DMs.
After that, open rates improved. Replies felt human. No-shows on booked calls dropped to zero.
Lesson: AI without your voice is just noise.
Day Six: When Not to Use AI
One lead was hesitating. I tried letting ChatGPT draft a response. It felt flat. Mechanical. Like a chatbot apology.
I deleted it, wrote from the gut, and closed the deal in two messages.
Key takeaway: AI is great for scale. But you still need to show up for the moments that matter.
Day Seven: What I’m Keeping
Here’s what I’ll continue using:
• AI-drafted emails with human edits
• Instant Zoom recaps that drop into my CRM
• Proposal templates that populate with one prompt
• Video intros created in two minutes
Here’s what stays human:
• Objection handling
• High-ticket negotiation
• Anything that starts with “I’m not sure if…”
Final Verdict
Letting AI run my pipeline didn’t make me less involved. It made me more present.
I got back six hours of admin. I focused more on real conversations. I actually closed faster.
So if you’re still typing the same five emails every day, ask yourself: is that the best use of your time?
